Main Military Medical Clinical Centre "The Main Military Clinical Hospital"

The Main Military Clinical Hospital is the oldest public medical institution in Ukraine.

It is a historical and legal successor of Kyiv Military Hospital, which was created according to the decree of the Senate of Medical Office on June 10, 1755, at the request of the governor of Kyiv.

All surgical and therapeutic clinics of the Main Military Clinical Hospital provide a wide range of minimally invasive endoscopic (low-traumatic) surgery and endoscopic diagnosis, such as neurosurgery (removal of tumors of the brain and spinal cord and epidural hematomas, ruptures, etc.), abdominal surgery (cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder), complicated forms of cholelithiasis, cryosurgery of metastases of liver tumors, etc.), ENT.

Gynecology clinic is composed of two operating units: for normal operations and endoscopy operations. The clinic provides the treatment of infertility, benign and malignant ovarian tumors of the uterus, and also consultation on contraception and practical help to women with unplanned pregnancies.

In the clinic of injuries all types of a modern metal-fusion of bones are used, a modern endoprosthesis of hip joint is implemented; the clinic also assists with sports injuries, gunshot wounds, thermal burns, osteomyelitis of bones, tendon injuries obsolete, etc.

The ophthalmology clinic provides complex operations on the posterior and anterior segment eye with retinal detachment, hemorrhage into the vitreous. Thanks to modern equipment conducted operations in combined injuries in complicated forms of cataract, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease are carried out.

A large part of the medical staff has extensive experience in health care in peacekeeping operations in many countries: Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Liberia, Iraq, Sierra Leone, and Afghanistan.

The hospital is constantly drawn to the medical support of visits of top government officials of foreign countries, military parades, international exercises, verification, and so on

The hospital works with the organizers of the European Football Championship "Euro 2012" in a separate program.

During the past 10 years the hospital has an active medical care to the civilian population, and to individuals by way of insurance companies.
